Biography
Karin J. Lundell is Of Counsel at Bartko Pavia LLP and Chair of the Trusts and Estates Practice. Karin brings more than two decades of experience counseling U.S. and non-U.S. residents in important life decisions. Karin provides personalized plans tailored to each client’s needs, including crafting tax effective estate plans and lifetime trusts for the transfer of property to loved ones; advising on charitable giving techniques; negotiating and drafting premarital agreements and property settlements in divorce; and advising on custody arrangements.
Karin has also represented domestic and international tax-exempt organizations on U.S. formation and IRS regulatory compliance. Karin’s experience in tax and estate planning is especially valuable when negotiating and drafting prenuptial agreements that incorporate planning for the disposition of property during lifetime and after death.
Karin serves on the board of two private charitable foundations engaged in awarding grants to major New York cultural, educational, medical and scientific institutions. Most recently Karin represented the United States at the International Inheritance Forum in Milan, Italy, in May 2022, lecturing on New York State inheritance law. She is fluent in French and Russian.
