Biography
Kelly Ann Coleman is Senior Counsel at Bartko Pavia LLP, based in the Los Angeles office and a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice. Kelly represents employers, big and small, in all aspects of California and federal employment law, in both litigation and advisory capacities.
Kelly has defended a wide variety of businesses and their principals in disputes alleging harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and violation of wage and hour laws, and advises employers with respect to all aspects of the employment relationship. Kelly’s extensive litigation experience also includes successful representation of clients in matters involving legal issues ranging from breach of contract, copyright, and right of publicity, to partnership dissolution, construction defects, and developer liability.
Prior to concentrating her practice in the employment and litigation arenas, Kelly spent many years practicing exclusively in the music industry, where she represented and advised high-profile talent and music entrepreneurs in all manner of industry activity, including recording, publishing and merchandise deals, endorsements and sponsorships, and rights clearance. She also served as tour legal counsel for multiple touring festivals, negotiating the full spectrum of artist, venue, and vendor contracts, and spending more than a little time on the road in the upper bunk of a tour bus.
