Ian Papendick is a Partner at Bartko Pavia LLP with 18 years of antitrust and litigation experience as a government enforcer, in-house lawyer, law professor, and partner at another major global law firm. He combines rock-solid fundamentals with innovative strategic thinking to anticipate client challenges and develop creative solutions that drive business success. His practice spans the full spectrum of antitrust matters—from government investigations and merger counseling to complex commercial and class action litigation, compliance counseling, and emerging technology issues, including AI applications.

Ian’s role as an antitrust enforcer positioned him at the forefront of high-stakes merger challenges and complex investigations. As an Assistant Attorney General for Colorado, he was a leader in the state’s challenge to the $25 billion Kroger-Albertsons merger, directing a multi-expert team through a four-week bench trial. This groundbreaking state court trial showcases his ability to navigate sophisticated merger litigation at the highest levels.
